Cococciola Terre di Chieti IGT

A white grape variety native to Abruzzo.

It has been cultivated for over a century, principally in the municipalities of Vacri, Ari, and Rocca San Giovanni in the province of Chieti. It is found only sporadically in other parts of the region, usually around Teramo. It has high acidity and a typically discreet, persistent grassy nose. In recent years, various wineries have begun making wines using 100% Cococciola grapes and some have successfully introduced a sparkling version.

Vino Terre di Chieti IGT Cococciola

Delicate, harmonic, savoury, persistent taste with a slightly acid structure which makes it a fairly fresh wine, with a slightly bitter grapefruit finish. Good persistence. Excellent as aperitif, ideal with seafood salads, raw fish and fish- and shellfish-based first courses.
